#022 NEED FOR EMPATHY WHEN THERE IS NO ADVERSITY

NEED FOR EMPATHY WHEN THERE IS NO ADVERSITY

Byron said: 'Adversity is the first path to truth'. We have another saying which is akin to this idea: 'Sweet are the uses of adversity'. Adverse circumstances may direct persons towards quest of truth. Yet, we see millions of people who undergo adverse lives and who do not long to find the truth, at least explore the true cause of their hardships. A person has to undergo travails, if he is understand the sufferings of those who face rough winds. This may be true in case of unenlightened persons, for whom empathy is not a part of nature.
